Brahmatal is named after a lake dedicated to Lord Brahma and has beautiful scenery and mythological stories. It is in the Chamoli district. It rises 12,000 feet above sea level. They are full of rhododendrons โ€“ the oak forests within the snow cliffs are a fascinating sight. The path from Lohajung to Brahmatal is surrounded by rivers, oak forests and the rays of the sun from the mountains. It is a perfect choice for beginners or newbies to start trekking. HOW TO REACH?:-

The journey to Brahmatal starts from Lohajung. There are different ways to reach here.

1. You can fly from Delhi to Dehradun and then take a train to Kathgodam.For Lohajung, it will take around 8 hours via taxi. Lohajung is the first base camp for rest.

2. Trains are available to reach Kathgodam station, the nearest railway station. To reach Lohajung, travel 8 hours by taxi to reach the base camp.

3. By road, the distance from Delhi to Lohajung is about 520 km which takes around 13 hours to reach the base camp.

DETAIL ITINERARY:-

The Brahmatal trek is 22 km long and will take six days to complete the journey. Here are the details of the itinerary for the Brahmatal Pass.

DAY 1: KATHGODAM TO LOHAJUNG:-

When you reach Kathgodam early in the morning, the road will take nine hours to reach Lohajung. It is 225 km from Kathgodam. Lohajung is the first base camp and the end of the day.

DAY 2: LOHAJUNG TO BEKALTAL:-

The next day the trek will begin with a journey to Bekaltal. Due to the Nanda Ghunti peak, this route is a very beautiful sight. Trek through the oak forest. It will take 4-5 hours to reach Baltal. The total distance covered will be 8 km. Night stay is available in tents.

DAY 3: BEKALTAL TO BRAHMATAL:-

Enjoying the snow-covered paths, you reach Brahmatal. It will take about 4 hours. trails run through the woods, And when you reach Telindi top. Tourists will get to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. From here we keep walking till we reach Brahmatal or Khabekhal lake. There are tents to spend the night and rest for the next day.

DAY 4: BRAHMATAL TO BRAHMATAL HIGH POINT:-

The next day, we get ready to climb to the top of Brahmatal. The road is difficult and passes through Chhota Jhandar and Bada Jhandar. There are valleys and mountains on either side. It will take around 3 hours to reach the top of Brahmatal. At the top, we get a glimpse of the Himalayan range. The panoramic view is splendid. The next camp is at Dum Dum and it will take 3 hours to reach there.

DAY 5: BRAHMATAL TO LOHAJUNG:-

We will leave the next day and go back to Brahmatal via Lohajung. The night will rest in guest home.

DAY 6: LOHAJUNG TO KATHGODAM:-

After reaching Kathgodam, the journey of six days is complete. From here you can explore the local markets. The food and their culture can be experienced and enjoyed.
